Coachella - Music and Style
Posted by Olsenboye on 04.19.2010We've said bon voyage to NYC and headed west to LA (did you see the latest film?). This weekend, we drove out to Indio, CA for the Coachella Music Festival. We encountered bold indie fashion and great music.
Rachel Bilson, above, perfected music festival chic. Our outdoor concert/music festival must-haves:
- cutoff jean shorts: the essence of cool, boho-chic
- hat or headwrap: a hat keeps the sun at bay, and a headwrap is a great, chic way to keep your hair out of your eyes
- breezy top: when it’s hot, a gauzy, breezy blouse will keep you cool
- boots: boots with shorts or a skirt are stylin’ – plus they keep grass off your feet!
- across-body bag: store your essentials in a cross-body bag that keeps hands free, and you won’t have to worry about losing it when you hop from stage-to-stage
We rolled some of our favorite headliners from the festival into a playlist for you.

Olsenboye Ultimate Coachella playlist
- Phoenix- If I Ever Feel Better
- She & Him- In the Sun
- LCD Soundsystem- Someone Great
- Vampire Weekend - Cousins
- Passion Pit - Sleepyhead
- Miike Snow- Animal
- Pavement- Cut Your Hair
- Gorillaz- Rhinestone Eyes
Enjoy!

Warm Weather Playlist
Posted by Olsenboye on 04.02.2010In the spirit of the sunshine in NYC today, we've put together the best of our iPod playlists for the "Ultimate Warm Weather Mix." Maybe you'll find a new favorite!
Sia – Breath Me
Sia is our new favorite artist. This song is out of this world amazing. Her vocals are so pure - the best we’ve heard in a long time.
Rural Alberta Advantage – In the Summertime
If you’re looking for some really amazing mellow music for the spring/summer, check out this band. We’re looking forward to going to Central Park, listening to our iPods and relaxing in the sun with this one.
Arcade Fire – Wake Up
This song was featured in the soundtrack for Where the Wild Things Are. It’s great background music while you’re getting ready to go out at night.
Great Lake Swimmers – Your Rocky Spine
This is an amazing indie band from Canada that plays awesome folk-inspired music. We’re blown away at how romantic their music is.
The Verve – Bittersweet Symphony
It's a classic English rock track that reminds us of lounging in the backyard with friends, sipping on some lemonade, and letting the sprinkler run over us in the dead heat of the summer.
Ray Lamontagne – Trouble
When you need a smooth song to relax while you’re browsing through magazines or taking a stroll, Ray is your man.
Phoenix – Lasso
This is a total top-down, music-blasting road trip tune. It makes you want to dance!
Weezer – Island in the Sun
“Hip Hip” – the lyrics are so catchy on this upbeat song that you may find yourself singing it for the rest of the day.
